Russell Gray

Russell graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in Geography and Planning Studies in 2001. Prior to joining Woods Hardwick Planning in 2004 he worked as a Development Control Officer at Mid Beds District Council gaining valuable public sector planning experience. Russell completed a part time Post Graduate Diploma in Urban Planning in 2005 and become a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 2006. He was made an Associate Planner in 2008 and became Director of the company in May 2011. Russell has experience in leading a variety of projects in all areas of town planning. He has been heavily involved in the promotion of sites for allocation in emerging Development Plan Documents under the development plan system brought about by the Planning Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.

Richard Murdock
Director

MA (Hons), MRTPI

Richard graduated from Heriot Watt University and began his career at Mid Bedfordshire District Council.  Having worked in Local Government for 6 years, Richard then spent over 2 years in the private sector before moving onto the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation and then Central Bedfordshire Council.  Richard has been a member of the RTPI since 2004 and joined WHP as an Associate Director before being promoted to Director in May 2017.  Richard brings a wide range of experience in all aspects of planning with extensive development control experience in both the public and private sector.

Roy Hammond
Associate Director

PgDip, MRTPI

Roy began his career in town planning at Daventry District Council in the late 1980’s. After 18 years in local government, Roy made the move to the private sector in 2006. After 5 years in Resource Management in New Zealand, Roy returned to the UK and private sector planning in 2015, based in the Midlands. Roy joined WHP as an Associate Director in May 2018. Roy is able to apply over 28 years of public and private sector planning knowledge and experience to help clients achieve their development goals.

Sam Boyd
Senior Planner

MSc, MRTPI

Sam began her planning career at Mid Bedfordshire District Council (now Central Bedfordshire Council) in Technical Admin. Having worked in Admin for 5 years, Sam became a Trainee Planner in 2004 and completed a Masters Degree in Spatial Planning at Oxford Brookes University on a part time basis whilst gaining a good working experience of planning matters. Post qualification Sam was promoted to Planning Officer and then Senior Planning Officer in 2013 and has been a member of the RTPI since 2012. Sam joined us at the beginning of 2016 and brings a wide range of experience in all aspects of planning with extensive development control experience from the public sector.

Kerry Brody
Assistant Planner

Kerry worked for Woods Hardwick Planning as a Planning Administrator for 21 years before taking on the role of Assistant Planner in 2011. She has long term experience of working within the planning sector, providing support to the Planning Director and wider team in the management and day to day running of projects.

Alistair Rokas

Alistair joined Woods Hardwick Planning in 2017 having graduated with a degree in Sustainable Planning. His role revolves around providing support to the Directors and wider team in the management and day to day running of projects.
